2012: A year in statistics

They say time flies when you’re having fun. The same must be true for running the Island’s fastest growing telecoms company. In just 12 short months we’ve gone from a respectable 100 customers, to over 1000 at last count. It’s no surprise then that traffic levels on our network have also jumped 10-fold with a massive increase in streaming media services such as iPlayer and YouTube.

Our Wi-Fi network has been a huge driver in this explosive growth. In fact we connected over 250, 000 devices since the 1st of January this year. With such high demand, we’ve rightly chosen to expand coverage to key public places on the Isle of Man. We’ve now got coverage in more places than ever including a prestigious and exclusive agreement with the Department of Infrastructure, providing coverage to both Douglas and Peel marinas.

We’ve also completed a comprehensive rebrand, making our website easier to use in the process.

2012 has been the year we pushed boundaries; tried new things and yes, ruffled our competitor’s feathers. Most importantly, we’ve delivered a consistently high level of service to all our customers. That’s what we do and also why we’ve yet to loose a single customer.

But what will the next 12 months bring? We’ve got ambitious plans for 2013! A new Douglas data centre, 100 Mbit/s broadband, 50+ new Wi-Fi hotspots and another 1000 customers. Most companies would be happy with just one of those things. We’ve decided to do them all.

As founder and managing director of BlueWave Communications, I couldn’t be prouder of all that we’ve achieved and those that have helped us get where we are today. As we start to become a dominant force in the Island’s telecoms market, remembering our core values will surely keep us in an enviable position for years to come.

It only remains for me to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.

With Best Wishes,

Stuart Baggs
Managing Director
