Outside Broadcast Network

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

You may already know that we operate the Island’s largest fixed wireless IP network, but did you know it does more than just deliver super fast broadband? Our network was built to deliver 100 MBit/s+ bandwidths with the lowest possible latency and jitter. This makes it ideal for the outside broadcast needs of the Island’s radio stations and HD studio links for visiting media crews.

Outside Broadcast NSC

I am pleased to report that we have successfully completed a series of 6 live broadcasts this weekend with 3FM. The broadcasts were delivered in ultra-wideband format with less than 100ms latency end to end including MPEG encoding overheads (this adds around 40 – 60ms in itself).

We expect to see rapid growth in this area over the coming months and we’re certainly excited to be involved.

Very best,

It’s that time of year again, the much needed August bank holiday. Our office will be closed from 6 PM on Friday the 27th of August until 9 AM on Tuesday the 1st of September. We will however be offering a full support service via our online ticket system. This can be accessed from within your account, selecting the raise a support ticket option once logged in.

Please ensure you are aware of your account login information before the bank holiday weekend.

Good luck to all those taking part in Cancer Research UK’s Relay for Life this Sunday. We will be down at the NSC providing outside broadcast facilities for 3FM so please feel free to come along and say hello.

It only remains for me to wish you all a relaxing and enjoyable long weekend.

Very best,
